Just like the 36 Corsair, the 33 was originally designed by Michael Peters Yacht Design. Like the 36, my role in this project was design details, interior design, plug shop supervision, and fit and finish. To get a similar look as the 36, I designed the interior with slightly modified galley and v-berth parts and used shelving instead of full cabinets. The shelving opens the cabin up visually and makes for a clean presentation. The head was designed to be completely wet and included a custom two part door frame- cherry wood on the outside and laminate with powdercoated aluminum on the inside. This eliminated the wear the cherry wood would incur with moisture over time. The companionway steps were designed to fold up and lock into position for easier access to the aft cabin/ storage area. The 33 Corsair went through two generations of engine hatches, with the full walkthrough version currently in production. I designed and supervised the plug build on both hatches. I did the design and development for this boat in AutoCAD, including furniture specs for the cabinet shop to build off of as well as production and vendor prints. This boat went into production Fall 2005.
These are only a few of the details on this boat. Please feel free to contact me for more information.
