Lancer 20 "Woody Edition"
Although the Lancer 20 was originally designed by Michael Peters Yacht Design, I helped to design the lower part of the dash/storage area and progress the model into special editions during the five and a half years I worked at Chris Craft. The Lancer Woody Edition included added teak wood flooring, teak trim around the cupholders, two-tone vinyl seating, and a mahogany wood applique to the dash. This was the first special edition model I worked on in the Lancer 20 line of boats. This boat was first debuted at the 2006 Miami International Boat show.
Lancer 20 "Silver Bullet"
The Lancer 20 "Silver Bullet Edition" was the second limited edition of the Lancer 20 that I worked on. This boat included silver painted deck and hull, teak strips on the deck and engine hatch to give it a racier look, and upgraded interior materials. The interior boasts teak floring, real silver carbon fiber applique on the dash and console, teak trim around the cupholders, a silver painted steering wheel and chrome throttle. The bucket seats have been pleated for that classic muscle look. I also supervised the modification of the deck and engine hatch mold for the teak strips, as well as making sure the bracing was in the correct location during the lamination process. This boat first debuted at the Chris Craft Dealer Meeting in 2008.
Lancer GT
The Lancer GT was a project I worked on at Chris Craft where we worked with GM to create a boat for the 2008 SEMA Car show in Las Vegas. This boat was paired up with a Chris Craft themed Pontiac G8 that boasted larger brakes, tow hitch, upgraded interior trim, and a trunk full of audio equipment. For this project, I redesigned the engine hatch to include a piece of clear plex to view the engine compartment. The cowl shaped hatch was made to look similar to the hood on the G8 and was necessary in allowing the engine to breathe. The stainless steel frame has hidden fasteners to keep the top side clean, and working vents for the larger engine installed underneath. I closely supervised the build of the plug as well as the intake vents, to make sure that the vendors parts I designed would fit the way they were supposed to.
The interior of the GT included an integrated waterfall console, aft bucket seats instead of the bench, upgraded stereo, and teak flooring, to name a few. I mocked up the waterfall console to make sure the look was right, and worked with our upholstery engineer to get the substrates bent to the right shape.
